Challah

This graphic book is a fusion of my two mother tongues and a representation of my dual nationalities. It contains a Challah recipe in 10 steps, a traditional Jewish bread. For this book, I have used both the Dutch language and the Hebrew language. Dutch is written from left to right and Hebrew from right to left, as you flip the book.

At the heart of this book, the two languages and nationalities meet, bringing the final result of the recipe to life, a fusion that reflects my own identity. Each typographic letter, indicating the steps from 1 to 10 in Dutch and Hebrew, is illustrated with custom-designed typography that reflects myself.
